Once you graduate, you only get to see you friends every ten years at each reunion! So you want to have a fun reunion party this time and not a boring formal one? Planning for your reunion would mean coming up with a special plan or an idea for the party. From the decorations to the food and particularly the entertainment, your graduate reunion party must impress your whole class. Remember that planning for your class reunion is as burdensome and intimidating as planning for a wedding! So, here are a few tips to making your next class reunion party a smashing success:
First things first, make a party-planning checklist. This will make organizing your party a lot easier and the chances of you missing out on some steps are less than likely. First create a budget for yourself and then stick to this budget. Once you have your planner in hand, its time to send out the invitations. There will be many of your classmates that you won’t have kept in touch with or you won’t know anything about. Try looking for all of your classmates. Bring in all the decorations so that you don’t have to run about at the very last minute buying streamers and balloons for your party.
Let’s start with the theme of the party. Themed parties are always successful so stick to keeping a simple theme. Perhaps you can choose a theme like an international theme for your party. Remember that reunions are a lot of fun if you the entertainment to back your theme up. From the Brazilian to the Hawaiian to the oriental theme, international themes are a lot of fun. From international themes to sports themes to Halloween themes, you can choose any theme that you like to make your reunion a whole lot more entertaining.
Then we have the music. A party without music would just plain suck. How about hiring a live band for your reunion? Whether you graduated in the 60’s or just a couple of years ago, live bands can play musical hits from every generation at your reunion. But if you’re looking for a specific style of music instead of the generation, you can hire bands that specialize in that kind of music. From blues to country to dance to metal to rock, bands can dish out any genre of music that you would prefer to listen to. Be it 50’s, 60’s, or even 90’s music, hiring a band would be a huge hit at your party.
Once you’ve set up the music, it’s now time to pick out the kind of entertainment you’d like for your graduation reunion party. Ever heard of the saying, ‘Variety is the Spice of Life’? What fun it would be to have a caricaturist at your party, drawing all the couples’s pictures, or the comedians to tickle a couple of funny bones. Reunion party entertainment comes in all forms. From the hypnotists to the ventriloquists, anything that keeps your guests happy should work for you. So, go out there and hire a few belly dancers, fortunetellers, magicians, stilt walkers, clowns, or even exotic dancers, anything to keep your guests entertained.
Let’s not forget the food! If you’re hosting the party indoors, then feel free to bur or make the food and beverages yourself. If you don’t have the time and the energy to make food for all those guests that are going to turn up, then hire a catering service. If you’re having a themed party, make sure your caterer is aware of this so he can prepare food to fit the theme. Find out how many people are coming so your caterer knows how much food to prepare. You don’t want to fall short of food and drinks do you? And always remember to hire the services of your favorite caterer way beforehand.
Now that everything is set up, get dressed up and have a blast because the next time you’re going for your high school reunion is probably ten years down the line!
