Celebrating a New Baby at Christmas |

|
Of all the wonderful gifts a family could receive at Christmas, none can compare to the gift of a new child being brought into the world. Whether the child is the first in your family or a precious addition, you’ll definitely want to celebrate by spreading the news. The good news is you can find the perfect birth announcements to combine the holiday and your terrific news. Holiday Birth AnnouncementsAlthough Christmas is meant to celebrate a particular holiday birth, that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the birth of your new bundle of joy with some of the seasonal spirit. You’ll even find some birth announcements which would be ideal for winter sending. For example, the Snow Boy or Snow Girl announcements are a great choice even if your new son or daughter is simply born during the colder months. On the other hand, if you want something more seasonal then these Christmas Angel announcements are perfect if you’ve had a little girl or choose these Stuffed Stocking die-cut cards for a little boy. The latter can even be personalized with your new little boy’s first name. When you send out your announcements, it’s often a good idea to include a photograph of your newborn if you have one. Many hospitals do take photographs of your infant so that you can send them to friends and family members. If not, you can always whip out your own digital camera at home and make prints inexpensively. Newborn Safety in the ColdOne of the reasons to send those photos is that a newborn who comes into the world during the winter months can be particularly vulnerable to illnesses and to other health problems if exposed too much to the harsh weather conditions. If possible, it’s a good idea to limit traveling during these months. You can always open your home to friends and family members who want to greet the baby, but you may not want to take him or her around on a parade of these people’s homes. If you do have to travel, make sure to warm the car up before you leave. Also, pack some extra diapers and formula in your baby bag just in case you run into car trouble or travel delays. It’s also a good idea, in general, to keep a warm blanket in the back of your car as well as a flashlight and extra batteries. You should also not leave the house without your cell phone being fully charged in case of an emergency. All of these precautions may seem inconvenient but they are important for protecting the health and safety of your new arrival and the rest of your family. |
