Christmas Gift Exchange Ideas |

|
To do an adult gift exchange, everyone usually draws a name. There may be one family member that holds the drawing themselves and lets everyone know whose name they have for that holiday. This is also fun because you never know whose name everybody has or who has your name for that matter! This also allows you to spend a little extra money on that person because you are not buying a gift for everyone in the family. This is great for big family. You can also get really creative and personalize the gift. Setting a theme for the holiday is also a lot of fun. Everyone should suggest a theme at the current Christmas for the next year. One year may be puzzles and games, things for the kitchen, hats and gloves, sweaters, etc. If you can’t afford to buy a gift for the whole family you can combine this with drawing names as well. Price caps can also be placed on the gifts to make them more affordable as well. This makes it easier because you don’t have to worry about what you are going to buy particular people because the theme is set. Ornament exchanges are perfect for children. Each child can be given a certain amount of money to buy ornaments for their brothers and sisters and cousins. Every year the children will receive a new ornament so by the time they are old enough to move out they have a good collection of ornaments for their own family tree. An ornament exchange is also good for adults at Christmas parties and other gatherings. When you are married you may find yourself not really wanting or needing anything for Christmas, yet you and your spouse want to do something special. Many couples have chosen to give a certain amount of money to charity for Christmas. Not only are you helping others but you are also doing something with your money that fills your soul. You feel good about giving to those in need. Another idea for families that don’t want to spend a lot on Christmas is to have everyone pitch in money that will be given to someone in need. Perhaps you have a friend who is a single mother and worried about her children not having a good Christmas. You can give the money to her or buy her and the children gifts for Christmas. You can also give the money to a charitable organization in your community that you know will help someone out with that money. There are lots of ideas and sometimes you need to get creative as a family to come up with ideas. As families grow it gets more difficult to buy gifts for everyone. Keep Christmas about the children and then come up with fun ways for adults to exchange gifts and have fun at Christmas. |
