RSVP for Christmas Party

RSVP Christmas InvitationsDeciding to throw a Christmas party is the first step. There are lots of preparations to insure that the party is a success. You’ll have to take care of the food, drinks, and activities, such as door prizes or board games. How are you going to be able to provide food and drinks for the people coming to your party if you’re not sure about how many plan on coming? An RSVP can be a lifesaver when it comes to invitations for your big Christmas bash.

RSVP came from the French language as a sort of call ahead warning. RSVP stands for respondez sil zous plait, which means respond if you please. So if you see an invitation with this acronym on it, you will want to call the host and let them know if you plan on attending the party.

This is a widespread idea and is used in many countries for tons of parties every day. By putting this on their invitations for your big Christmas party, you’ll be able to figure out how much food and drink you’ll need to supply for the party. A bonus about putting RSVP on your invitations is that many people who decide to come to the party will want to bring something along with them and their families, such as food or drink, usually what you tell them you need. This is an easy way to take some of the stress off of your shoulders.

Believe me, people almost feel obligated to help, so don’t be shy. If they ask you if they can bring something, they usually sincerely want to help so you should let them. Your future guests will also get a chance to ask you any questions that they may have about the party, such if there will be alcohol, if they need to find a babysitter of if the children are allowed, and most importantly, the dress. Everyone at a party wants to fit in. The last thing they want is to show up in a tie and find out that everyone is casually dressed. You may want to include the dress on the invitation itself, just to insure that there is no confusion.

You may want to incorporate a game or two with the party. This way it keeps everyone at the party involved and no one will feel as if they are left out. You can do games such as door prizes. Give out tickets at the door so everyone will talk about the prizes all night, giving the whole party a common ground for conversation. This will keep people mingling and the more people your guests meet and talk to, the more fun they’re going to have. You may even want to include a white elephant theme to your party. This is when everyone will bring a gift, not to exceed twenty dollars or so. Everyone draws a number and picks a gift. The next person has the option to steal a gift or pick a new one. This goes on to the end and is another great way to keep everyone participating.
