Should Your Christmas Card be a Photo Card?

Cristmas Photo Card

Photo cards are very popular at Christmas. Many parents like to include a photo of their kids or of the entire family each year, especially if they live far away from family and friends. Using a photo to create a Christmas card makes your holiday greetings unique and special.

Today, there are many websites that allow you to create your own photo cards online using a wide variety of card templates. You simply download the chosen digital photo into the chosen template, then create your wording and signature before you finish. Your cards are then printed and delivered right to your door.

If you’re thinking of creating a photo card this Christmas, consider doing something out of the ordinary. For instance, instead of using a picture taken in front of the Christmas tree especially for the card, choose a favorite family photo from your summer vacation. A photo of your kids playing on the beach can make a Christmas card just as special as one taken in front of the fireplace. With the wide variety of choices in templates and stationery to use with your photo, you’re sure to find something that looks great with your favorite photograph from the year.

One of my favorite photo cards from this year was a simple black and white one I received from a girlfriend who was married in the summer. The photo of her beside her new husband was taken on the front steps of the church on their wedding day. Rather than a formal wedding portrait, she chose a photo of them sharing a passionate and spontaneous kiss. Her verse read “After all, Christmas is about love.”

It’s also nice to have a regular tradition with your Christmas photo cards. For example, a friend of mine sends a Christmas card every year with a photo of her three children. The children are always dressed in jeans and white shirts, and they’re always sitting in the same arrangement in front of the same fountain in her hometown. The card is predictable, but it also makes it easy to see how the children have grown and changed each year.

And, don’t forget photo cards for your business. Particularly if you own a small business, your clients are likely to enjoy receiving a Christmas card with a photo of your employees with whom they do business regularly. Or consider a photo card that showcases your product. For example, if you own a bakery, have a photo card designed with a picture of your most beautiful holiday cake. Your card now serves as greeting, thank you, and advertising all in one pretty package.

If you’re designing a photo card for your business, you may want to consider making your card a “holiday” card, so as not to offend clients who may not celebrate Christmas itself. You’ll find that you can use a wide variety of holiday stationery and templates to create a unique photo card celebrating the winter season.

Photo greeting cards are a fun and unique way to make your personal or business holiday cards stand out from the crowd. And, with today’s many options in stationery and verse, you can make a card that’s sure to leave your friends, relatives and business associates with a warm holiday smile!
