Planning a Ski Season Get Together

Now that the cold weather is beginning to hit some parts of the country you might be starting to think about hauling out your skis and hitting the slopes. After all, the ski season is the perfect time to enjoy the exhilaration of rushing down the side of the mountain with the brisk air whipping around you. Plus, since the ski season is always fun, it’s also a great time to plan a special get together for your friends or family members.

If you want to throw a special birthday or holiday party or even if you just want a chance for everyone to get together before the hectic Christmas holiday gets started, then here are some tips in planning your event.

Choosing the Right Ski Season Invitations

Obviously, you’ll need to invite all of your guests to attend and that means sending out the right invitations. My suggestion is go with a snowy outdoor theme. The Berry Wreath on Fence or Wreath on Birch Tree invitations are two great examples. Both are set in a lovely outdoor area covered in snow – similar to the area in which you’ll be enjoying your get together.  However, if you want to send invitations more closely tied to skiing, then consider either the Ski Cabin stationery or Cabin Christmas invitations. They would definitely set the mood for your event.

If everyone is meeting at the ski location or resort, make sure to include detailed instructions on how to reach the area along with your invitations. It’s also a good idea to add a cell phone number where you can be reached in case your guests get lost.

Other Pointers for Planning a Skiing Get Together

Pay attention to the weather reports. Anyone who has ever gone skiing knows that the weather on the mountain isn’t always great for going down the slopes. Sometimes there’s not enough snow; other times the weather makes even getting to the mountain a challenge. If you’re only planning a day trip, then consider having a back up date in mind in case of poor weather conditions. If you’re planning a longer get together, then pad your trip with an extra day or two just in case the weather isn’t helpful early on during your trip.

Make sure you book your cabins or resort rooms in advance. The skiing season is always busy for most resorts so don’t wait until the last minute and expect to find a place at the resort. Definitely make your arrangements as early as possible to prevent last minute problems.
