Choosing Birthday Invitations to Match Your Personality

The most interesting aspect of a person is his or her personality. Everyone is different, so basing your birthday around your unique personality is guaranteed to give your birthday party a one of a kind feel.

What Type are You?

Pioneers in personality research are Carl Jung and Katharine and Isabel Myers-Briggs. Based on their research, individuals are either primarily: extraverted or introverted; sensing or intuitive; thinking or feeling; and judging or perceiving. These basic preferences are then broken down to form sixteen different personality types.

Personality test results are often applied to career guidance or changes, management training, education, counseling and personal relationships. While most people won’t fall completely into one category, usually you can determine what type of personality you have by completing a personality test.

Cool and Calm

If you have a naturally laid back and relaxed personality, you might want to host a casual get-together. Since your personality lends itself to handling a larger number of people without getting stressed out, invite everyone. Choose blue or green invitations featuring a serene backdrop, and your guests will come prepared to relax and socialize.

Bubbly

If your friends and family continuously use the word bubbly to describe your vivacious personality, embrace it and use it as your party’s theme. You could send invitations featuring champagne bottles and incorporate a little bubbly into your party. You could also choose invitations decorated with large bubbles for the wording. Ask guests to bring bubble mixture or make some yourself using detergent, glycerin and water. Then, have guests blow bubbles as you blow out your candles.

Bookworm

If you tend to feel shy around other people and prefer to read a good novel instead of meeting friends in a loud bar, consider having a bookworm party. Use invitations featuring bookshelves lined with books, or decorated with an open book that will house your wording. Then, ask guests to bring their favorite books to the party for a book swap.

The Daredevil

If your family and friends constantly question your sanity, then perhaps you should invite them to a birthday party that introduces them to one of your crazy hobbies. Or, try something new and a little on the edge. Depending on the season and your location, you could invite guests on a white water rafting trip with invitations featuring rushing water or a giant waterfall. After your adventure, you could have a picnic and enjoy the scenery, celebrating the fact that everyone made it through.

You could also go hang gliding. Even if everyone doesn’t participate, they can still cheer you on as you soar through the air. Or, send invitations with mountains as the backdrop and invite everyone to climb the wall at your local sports store or gym. It’s much safer than real rock climbing and, with everyone buckled into a harness, is a safe way to live on the edge.

Endless personality types and combinations provide endless birthday party sources. By using your unique quirks and traits this year, your party is sure to stand out.
