Whether you’re celebrating a birthday party, an upcoming graduation from high school or college, a bachelorette party, or a new baby, a girls’ night out can be a great way to enjoy the event. In fact, you don’t even need a special event or excuse to get all of your female friends together for a night on the town.

Below are some tips that can help you have a wonderful and safe girls’ night out.

  • Send the invitations as early as possible – Your friends probably have plenty of other commitments in their lives so don’t just assume they’ll be able to drop everything even for a fun evening with the girls. They may need to make babysitter arrangements, cancel plans with their significant other, or take some time off from work. Also, remember to choose appropriate invitations that are both fun and related to the theme, such as Girls Night Out, Neon Sign, Convertible Girls, or Party Girls.
  • Pair up – Safety should always be a priority no matter how old your friends are. However, if drinking is going to be involved then pairing up is a must. Basically, this means you should each have a close friend who will watch your back during the evening and who will do the same for you. For example, if you leave your drink and go to the restroom she will watch it to make sure no one slips you a drug. Your friend can also make sure you don’t end up hooking up with someone you don’t know or getting into a difficult situation.
  • Have an alternative to driving drunk – If you’re partying and that includes drinking, then you need to plan ahead so you don’t end up in a serious accident because you’ve had too much alcohol. There are plenty of options. You could rent a vehicle with a driver, either a limo or a party bus.  You could also be very selective about the location of your party activity. For instance, you could choose a bar/restaurant within walking distance of a hotel where you could “sleep it off” until the morning. If nothing else, have one or two designated drivers or the number of a local cab company handy.
  • Have a no-guys-allowed rule – Having a true girls’ night out means the activities should be girls only. Even if some of your friends have boyfriends or husbands, they should stay home or find other activities so just the women can spend the evening having a good time. That also means all of the girls should agree to keep all flirting innocent and not to ditch her friends for a new man during the partying.

These are just a handful of rules you’d want to follow in order to have a safe and enjoyable girls’ night out. And, of course, you don’t have to go out drinking and partying in bars or hotels to have fun with your female friends. You could just gather together at one of your homes with some great movies and snacks – it may seem simple but it’s still one of the best ways to have a true girls’ night out.
