Bulls, Bears Make Money; Pigs Get Slaughtered
Let's have a pig-themed celebration party
The stock market is well known as a roller coaster ride. You’ve got to take the good with the bad but also know when to jump off before you end up losing everything you brought on board the coaster train. That’s the secret of success in the stock market and when you’ve accomplished a goal for yourself or a client then that’s a good excuse for celebrating.
And what better way to celebrate than with a pig-themed celebration.
Pigs & the Stock Market
First, maybe we should back up a second and explain the puzzling title of this article. We’re not talking about a slaughterhouse or anything. Instead, the title refers to a type of investor. Most people are familiar with the phrases bull market and bear market, but they may be less familiar with the idea of the pig as a symbol for a particular type of investor.
The bull market occurs in strong economic times. Everything in the country is looking bright – unemployment rates are low, GDP is high and growing, people are content and buying stuff like crazy. It’s a good time for investors who already have their money in some great stocks. They’ll definitely be seeing a good return on their investments.
The bear market, on the other hand, is not as positive. This occurs when things in the country are going downhill. Maybe there’s a recession or high inflation that’s going to cause stock prices to plummet. On the bright side, investors who are good at predicting the end of such a market stand to benefit financially by being able to buy when stock prices are low then ride the waves of the bull market.
These two types of markets lead to terms for optimistic investors – “bulls” – and pessimistic investors – “bears.”
Pigs are a third type of investor. These folks are the ones looking to make a fortune on one turn of the cards so they gamble a lot on a high risk stock or security. Since most of the time they haven’t done any research before investing, they are likely to lose their shirts and to end up on a proverbial table with an apple in their mouths. Bulls and bears love pigs because all of those losses are good for their bottom lines.
Pig-Themed Stock Market Parties
And that brings us to the idea of a pig-themed party for investors. Whether you invite mostly bulls or bears, all of them are probably more than happy to celebrate the greed and unthinking investment strategies of those pigs. You can start off by sending pig-themed invitations to your potential guests, such as Pig, Pig Bandana, or Pig Roast.
At the actual party, don’t hesitate to put together a menu heavy on the pork dishes. If you’re having brunch, you could serve bacon, sausage, ham, or even pork chops. Sit down or buffet style meals could include pork barbecue, roasted pork, or other delicious entrees.
And don’t forget the pig-themed decorations!
Keep in mind that you might want to explain the significance of the pig to stock markets in your invitations so everyone is one the same page. Otherwise, everyone should just be focused on having a good time, regardless of the type of market they’re experiencing at the time.
