Pink Roses for a Special Valentine’s Party

While Valentine’s Day may be a perfect time for couples to enjoy a wonderful, romantic evening together, it can also be a perfect holiday for throwing a party. Maybe you want to invite some of the married couples and their children. Maybe you want to put together a party for your teenager and his/her friends. Maybe you want to throw a celebration for all of your single friends who feel a little depressed about the holiday.

No matter who you want to attend your party the way to start is with the perfect theme: pink roses.

Why Pink Roses as Your Party Theme

Pink roses are a great choice for your party theme because of what they symbolize. Roses, obviously, are an important symbol of love. Thousands of roses will be sent to people this Valentine’s Day simply because one look at those velvet petals sends a powerful message to the recipient.

However, most of those petals will be red. Red roses symbolize passionate love – the kind of love you would associate with an intimate Valentine’s celebration. Pink roses, on the other hand, suggest a more innocent, friendly love. That’s why they are a perfect choice as a theme for your party, plus they won’t be in as much demand as the red roses.

Using Pink Roses as Your Theme

If you’re thinking about using pink roses as your theme, start with your invitations. Here are a few examples of invitations that would work well: rose wall, rose vellum, and rose fence invitations.

Make sure to decorate your party location with plenty of pink roses. Bouquets in the centers of each table are a good start. You can also use stencils and water colors to add roses to your table linens or to create artwork for the walls. Pink roses in inexpensive vases make good gifts for your guests, too.

Of course, everything doesn’t have to be about the pink roses. You can choose romantic food items, such as chocolate-dipped strawberries and glasses of pink-tinged champagne. If you’re having a party for younger guests, then consider purchasing rose-shaped cookies decorated with pink icing or sprinkles. You could also make rose-shaped lollipops and candy pieces made from melted white chocolate colored pink with food dye.

Don’t forget the importance of music. If you’re having a party for people in relationships, choose classic love songs from artists like Air Supply, Chicago, Peter Gabriel, and others. If you’re having a un-Valentine party for your single friends, steer clear of the ballads and opt for a music list that includes songs that will keep your guests on their feet dancing all night long.
