Invite some friends to a Spa Party!

Most women desire to be pampered once in a while, but few take the time to actually do it. Your girlfriends will appreciate receiving an invitation from you to come to a spa party that will pamper them for a few hours!

Who to Invite

How many you invite will be determined by how much space you have to host the party. Usually 6-12 is a good number to invite, for many reasons. When deciding who to invite, consider which women will have things in common. For example, you could invite a group of mothers of school age children. The common ground will immediately be established for conversations around raising children.

Invitations

If the intent is to pamper the women that you invite, begin by searching for just the right invitation to convey the intent to them and to indicate what the activities will be. Look for invitations that are adorned with lace and ribbons, and pictures of nail polish, face masques and wine glasses. Feeling pampered by the printed invitation first step in the process of a woman determining that she deserves time out for a “spa-day”.

Decorating

If the intent is to pamper in a “spa” setting, then your decorations will need to be very feminine and intimate. Use lots of white Christmas lights, lamps and candles to create the ambiance, keeping overhead lights to a minimum. Lace, tulle netting and satin are all materials to use throughout the party space. If there are people willing to act as additional hostesses, have them come dressed in formal evening wear and greet each guest at the door with champagne or sparking cider. If you have a fireplace, light it. Each detail will culminate in creating an atmosphere that your invited friends will not want to leave!

Activities

Regardless of what your budget is, or the type of space you have; you can hostess a successful spa party! Creating “stations” for manicures, pedicures, facials, and even hair coloring are very simple! If you have a hot tub, pool, or Jacuzzi; be sure to tell people to bring a swimsuit. Suggest each woman bring her own hairbrush and makeup, a fancy outfit and any other personal items she may want. Also encourage each invited guest to bring accessories and items to share for group usage. A digital camera would be great to have on hand, with a person designated to take photos throughout the party.

One suggestion is to take before and after photos and then give each guest printed photos as a reminder of their time of pampering. If desired, a sheet could be draped to do a “photo shoot” before the meal. After all women have visited desired stations, serve them a healthy gourmet type meal and a decadent dessert! If you are not one who enjoys cooking, visit the frozen food or deli section of the grocery store, or order take-out! Finish the party by having each woman say affirming comments about the person to her left and right (thereby including everyone) Each woman will leave feeling renewed in both body and soul!
