Choosing Beach Wedding Favors for Your Guests

So you’ve decided on a beach theme for your wedding. Maybe you’ve decided to tie the knot on the beach beside a beautiful watery view or while standing on a fantastic boat. Maybe you’re miles away from the nearest beach but you’ve decided to decorate your wedding and reception site with palm trees, sand boxes, murals of sunsets, and plastic buckets filled with tropical flower bouquets.

However, all of your beach wedding planning can’t leave out the all important wedding favors for your guests. Remember the important thing about wedding favors is that your guests love them and have something to cherish as a keepsake from your special celebration.

Picking the Right Wedding Favors

Beach Wedding Favors

Beach-themed wedding favors can come in a wide variety of styles. For example, you could purchase small decorative bottles and fill them with sand from the beach. If you have plain colored bottles, you could do the same thing but add some coloring to the sand – maybe in your wedding colors. Tie a lovely ribbon around the neck and you’ve got a perfect favor.

Another great idea is candy. If you check out bake shops in your area, you’ll probably find some candy molds in a large variety of shapes and styles. You can also find these online. Pick some tropical designs: palm trees, shells, fish. All you have to do is melt the candy mixture – also available at these stores and in a number of different colors – and pour it into the molds. After the candy hardens, you can wrap them in individual bags for each of your guests.

Other great beach wedding favor ideas include drink glasses with recipes for frozen margeritas or other tropical mixed drinks, candles scented like the ocean or coconut, or even individual soaps shaped like fish or shells.

The important thing when choosing any wedding favor is to pick something small and portable, as well as something affordable. If you’re inviting 100 guests, you don’t want to choose a favor that is going to run you too high. Even a small item costing around $5 would end up costing you $500.

Beach Wedding Favors & Invitations

Of course, wedding favors are only part of the planning process for a beach wedding. You’ll also want to select appropriately themed wedding invitations. Beach Ball invitations are one example. They are brightly colored and fun just like a beach wedding. Other examples of great beach wedding invitations include Palm Square, South Beach, and Tropical Floral cards.
