How to Use Die-Cut Bridal Shower Invitations

Most of the invitations on the market are pretty similar in shape. The majority are rectangles – some are narrow, some are wide, some are oversized. You might find a few square invitations here and there. That doesn’t mean you can’t find invitations that are unique. In fact, if you choose die-cut invitations then you’ll be guaranteed an interesting and fun shape for your wedding, birthday, or party invitation.

Using Die-Cut Invitations

When you purchase die cut invitations, they’ll arrive on a larger sheet so it can more easily be used in a printer. The design, however, is already marked out on the sheet with a perforated line so you can more easily remove it from the larger sheet without causing any damage to the invitation itself.

Before you start printing a large quantity of invitations, you should practice. You want to make sure the message is being printed correctly on the design, for example. To do this, I recommend purchasing some transparent vellum paper. Print out the message on the vellum paper, cut the design to match the invitation style you want, then place the vellum over the actual die cut card which is still attached to a larger sheet. Because the vellum is transparent, you’ll be able to get a good idea of whether your layout is going to work or not.

If it does, then go ahead and print all of your invitations on the actual sheets. You may want to do this in smaller batches so you can keep checking the quality as you go. If it does not work, do some tweaks and try again on vellum paper. Keep making adjustments until you’re satisfied with the results.

More Tips for Using Die-Cut Invitations

Don’t be discouraged by how complicated the die-cut designs look. The Lingerie and Bridesmaid Dress bridal shower invitations are good examples of these designs. Remember you don’t have to do any complicated cutting or anything like that. The design is already perforated on the bigger sheet so it’s easy to remove. The cards also come with matching envelopes so you don’t have to worry about finding ones that will match the size of the design.

If you want good, fast results, using a laser printer is the best idea. While inkjet printers can be used with many invitations, laser printers can do massive jobs in seconds and the results are excellent. Plus, you won’t have to be switching ink cartridges frequently. The toner cartridge in a laser printer may cost a little more (around $90 to $100 on average) but can last for thousands of printed pages or invitations.
