Exotic Save the Date Card Ideas
Save the date cards can be an important part of your wedding stationery package, but many couples wrongly believe that save the date cards have to be boring or plain. Thankfully, that’s not the case. You can find some great, fun save the date cards for your themes if you know where to look.
Save the Date Card Basics
Before we talk about some of those fun save the date card ideas, let’s go over a few important pieces of information about the cards. For starters, remember that not ever couple needs to mail out save the date cards. However, if your wedding is taking place around a holiday or popular vacation time or if your wedding guests need to make travel plans to attend then you might want to consider sending out save the date cards.
Remember save the date cards are sent out at least four months before the actual wedding day. The wording doesn’t have to include all of the information, but it should include the date and the city and state where the wedding will take place (and, of course, who is getting married). No responses are necessary, but you’ll probably end up getting a few phone calls to congratulate you.
Save the Date Cards Ideas
Now that we’re on the same page about these save the date cards, let’s look at some ways to make them more interesting. Flamingos Invitations would work great as save the date cards, particularly for some exotic destination wedding locations or even for pink wedding themes. Another idea for exotic are the Palm Tree Invitations – these are wonderful if you’re having a beach wedding, particularly in Hawaii or similar island paradise. In fact, they could also work if you’re simply having a beach theme for your wedding.
If you’re not having a beach theme or an island wedding, but you want everyone to know that your wedding is going to be a good time then the Save the Date Invitations might work well with their partial black background and their clinking martini glasses. In fact, these particular cards suggest an adults-only reception and/or wedding so they may be a good choice if that’s what you have in mind.
Of course if these ideas don’t appeal to you, keep looking. Don’t think you have to look only for specific save the date cards. As two of the examples above illustrate, even ordinary blank invitations can be used for save the date cards. Just keep an eye for a design you like and that works for your wedding’s theme. But remember you’ve got to get those cards out pretty early so don’t wait too long to start your search.
