If you’ve been planning your wedding for very long, then you’ve probably read plenty of articles recommending that your invitations match the theme of your wedding. That’s definitely a good idea. You really want your theme to be consistent throughout all of your wedding and that’s one of the best ways to make that happen.
Here’s a couple of ideas for taking that idea to the next level by making your wedding invitations the centerpiece of your reception.
Take a look at this invitation and imagine what it would look enlarged at the entrance of your wedding reception venue. Your guests would be amazed. Your invitation theme would definitely be carried on through the rest of your wedding.
How would you accomplish this? One way is to have the invitation enlarged. You can do this with a copier if you don’t want it to be very large. Another idea is to hire an artist to recreate the image on a larger canvas. If you take this option, you can create the decoration out of any material you choose and can even tweak the design to better match your own wedding attire. Plus, you’ll have a special keepsake that will remind you of both your wedding and your invitation.
If you don’t want to specifically create your decorations based on the exact design of your wedding invitations, then why not use them for inspiration. For example, these Wedding Bike Ride invitations show a happy couple riding into their new life together on a bicycle. You could use that as the basis for some fun reception ideas. Why not enter the reception hall while riding a bicycle? Or you could purchase some used bicycles at garage sales, clean them up, and decorate them with streamers or other decorations and place them around your reception hall.
Another example you could use is Wedding Puzzle stationery. If you choose these invitations, you could create photo jigsaw puzzles as table centerpieces your guests could work on while waiting for the wedding party to show up. You could also have a large jigsaw puzzle created that could be hung up on the walls as decorations. Ordinary colorful puzzle pieces could be poured into small glass containers and used as centerpieces. You might even be able to find a cake decorator who could recreate a jigsaw puzzle look on your wedding cake.
