Choosing Sandals for Your Beach Wedding
Whether you’ve decided on a beach theme or a destination wedding on a gorgeous beach, you’ll probably want to pay special attention to your footwear. Remember you should probably already be thinking about what you’re going to be wearing – choosing your ensemble begins around 6 to 9 months before the wedding (or sooner if you’re anxious to start trying on those gowns).
Those delectable high-heel strappy shoes aren’t going to work very well in sand nor will they match your overall beach theme. You may want to consider ditching elegant shoes in favor of something a little more casual, fun, and creative.
Sandals: The Perfect Beach Wedding Footwear
Today’s brides are comfortable ditching some of those old etiquette rules and choosing items that make a fashion statement or that just work amazingly with their wedding themes. Plus, you can find sandals and casual flip flops in so many colors and styles that you’re bound to find ones you love.
We’re not talking neon orange flip flops or anything like that (although if you have a lot of color in your wedding decorations or wedding dress then that would be perfectly fine, too). You can find classy sandals in silver, decorated with rhinestones, decked out with suede, or more. There are also beautiful sandals that use bows to literally wrap around your lower leg – a beautiful touch, especially if you are wearing a shorter gown.
Sandals don’t have to just be for brides either. Men can choose from many styles created just for them in colors that complement their apparel. Flowers girls and ring bearers will probably appreciate being able to wear more comfortable sandals instead of having to break in stiff dress shoes.
Continuing the Beach Sandal Theme
Like many parts of your wedding, if you’re interested in carrying on that beach theme into your invitations but you’re not quite sure how to do it then consider sandal-themed wedding invitations. You’ll find a number of unique options available, including Poolside Wiggling Flip Flops, Flip Flop fill ins, Preppy Flips, and narrow Flip Flops.
You can also make a note on your invitations to let guests know that casual footwear is wholly acceptable – and even encouraged – at your wedding. Think about how much more fun dancing is going to be when your guests can literally kick off their shoes and fill the sand – not the blisters – on their feet.
