Square Wedding Invitations Can Still be Relaxed

The word “square” has plenty of meanings, including someone who is not a lot of fun to be around, but when it comes to wedding invitations “square” is definitely not a derogatory description. Some of the best wedding invitation choices are squares.

Square Invitations

If you’re interested in something more unusual than those standard rectangular wedding invitations, then square invitations can be a great choice. They have a unique look and don’t usually cost any more in postage than any other invitation.

One of my favorite examples of square wedding invitations is bi-colored. One color acts as a frame around a square of the other color. The inside of the envelope is striped to match those same two colors, too. This look adds a consistent feel to the cards. These wedding invitations come in three color combinations: mocha and olive, chocolate and pink, and mocha and sky.

Of course, other square wedding invitations are available, too. For example, one example is decorated with images of palm trees to give the card a tropical feeling which would work well for a beach, tropical, or destination wedding theme. Another lovely square wedding invitation includes a number of hydrangea flowers in one corner. This card would be ideal for certain color or floral wedding themes.

Having a “Hip” Wedding

While we’re on the topic of “square” weddings, you might be concerned that your own celebration might just come across as a little too boring. After all, none of us want to throw a bad party. Preventing that is simple: think about your guests. Of course, the celebration is about you but if you make decisions you like while also keeping your guests’ interests in mind, then you’re more likely to have a great reception and wedding.

Take the entertainment, for example. At one wedding reception, the bride chose only jazz music to be played by the disc jockey. While she loved the music and so did a couple of members of her family, most of the other guests just sat around the dance floor looking bored. There was nothing wrong with the music itself, but if the couple had thought about their guests they would have added some variety to the song list.

The same idea applies to most aspects of your reception, including food. You may love sushi, for example, but if you know some of your guests don’t then make sure you add some alternatives to your menu if you want everyone to have a good time.
