Two Amazing Bridal Shower Themes

While the bride and groom are busy adding the finishing touches to their own wedding plans, other family and friends will be thinking about the bridal shower. The bridal shower was originally a celebration which allowed people to give the couple gifts to help them set up their new home together. Today, things haven’t changed all that much. One difference is that more people are planning their bridal showers around themes.

Here are a few bridal shower themes you might want to consider for your own celebration.

Theme #1: Cocktail Time

Many couples today already have a lot of the items they need to start their household, especially if they are older, are living together, or have been married before. One way to get around that problem is throwing a “Cocktail Time” bridal shower. All the gifts will be items the couple can use when entertaining, such as bottles of alcohol, wine glasses, tiki torches, etc.

For the party itself, obviously, cocktails will definitely be on the menu. Plan the refreshments so they mimic what you’d find at any bar during happy hour: peanuts, pretzels, maybe even some peel and eat shrimp. Keep the blenders whirring with frozen drinks. Consider buying a keg, too, if your guest list includes guys, too.

For invitations, the Cocktail Soiree cards are a classy way to connect with guests. The Bloody Mary or Colorful Cocktail options are good choices for more casual affairs.

Theme #2: The World

If the happy couple is interested in more than what happens in their backyard, then consider a bridal shower theme that embraces the diversity of the world and its cultures. You may want to do a little research for ideas, but that’s what the Internet is for.

Your party refreshments could include food choices from around the globe: sushi, naan Indian flat bread), ravioli, egg rolls, etc. If your budget is more limited, take a trip to a few local ethnic grocery stores and pick up some inexpensive snacks. You’d be surprised at the reasonable prices.

For gifts, your guests can choose practically anything with a global-theme, even a globe! They could choose items made in other countries, items decorated with globes or maps, and numerous other options. If all else fails, the guests can always buy gift certificates to the couple’s favorite ethnic restaurants.

Around the World invitations or Globe Die Cut cards are both great choices for the event.
