Wedding Seals For Wedding Invitation Envelopes
When you’re planning a wedding, all of the details are important, especially when it comes to your invitations which make the first impression on your potential guests. You want to pick just the right paper, just the right font, just the right design. However, many couples forget that attention to detail when it comes to sealing their invitations.
The good news is you don’t simply have to lick all of those envelopes to seal them before mailing. You can find lovely wedding seals instead which will add elegance and personality to your invitations as soon as your guests remove them from the mailbox.
Originally, envelope seals were created using wax. Usually, a small amount of the wax would be placed on the enveloped then pressed with some type of imprint, such as a coat of arms or a monogram. When the wax hardened, the design would remain as an imprint. Today, you can still purchase the materials necessary for creating wax seals in this way. Unfortunately, getting the most beautiful results usually requires a lot of practice and the equipment can be pricey, especially if you want a custom-made seal. For these reasons, most couples opt for something a little easier and more cost effective.
Peel and stick seals are generally a better option. You can purchase imitation wax seals which work this way, too. The seal may include the word “love,” wedding bells, double rings, or even the Chinese symbol for “love.” While this idea has its appeal, not all couples love the idea of having the fake wax look on their envelopes. Plus, most of these seals come in only a few options so you may have a hard time finding exactly what you want without spending hours browsing the Internet. Plus, the costs can be quite high. For just 50 of these seals, you could spend between $65 and $70.
Another option is to use other types of peel and stick seals. These types of seals are usually sold in sheets and are usually much more affordable. Fifty of these seals, for example, might cost you between $6 to $8. That’s a big savings.
Besides the issue of money, these seals usually have a cleaner look which matches more nicely with modern and contemporary style wedding invitations. They are also easier to attach to the envelopes and come in far more designs. You can find seals showing different types of flowers or in different colors to complement the look of your invitation and its embellishments. You can also find these types of seals in different shapes, including squares, circles, and ovals.
As you try to decide on which wedding seals to use for your invitations, it’s important to keep two things in mind. First, the seal’s appearance should be consistent with the rest of the invitation. If your invitation is casual, you don’t want to add a very formal wax seal to the envelope, for example. Second, be practical. If you only have a short time to prepare the invitations, you’re not going to have the time to create your own wax seals no matter how much you may want to. By staying focused on these two ideas, you’ll be more likely to select the right wedding seals for your invitations.
