Are White Wedding Invitations a Good Choice?
Traditionally, weddings are strongly associated with the color white. Even though wedding dresses can be any color today, most brides still opt for traditional white gowns. Wedding cakes can be creative masterpieces of color and design but most brides still prefer a traditional white exterior no matter how daring the layers and fillings may be.
One place where you rarely see white, however, is in the wedding invitations. It doesn’t have to be that way. White can be a beautiful choice for wedding invitations.
Simple, Elegant Beauty
White wedding invitations are definitely appealing because they have a classic elegance. The Shimmer White Celebration Jacket Invitations, the Pear Border on White Flat Cards, or the Intertwined White Invitations Kit are excellent examples. You don’t have a lot of extra designs and colors to distract guests away from the main look of your invitations and from the most important message: I’m getting married.
White wedding invitations also work well when you want to add a nice design touch. With more colorful invitations, a simple design could easily become overshadowed in the other hues. The Embossed Dove Wedding Invitations and the Embossed Ring Wedding Invitations illustrate how even a white design element on a white background can stand out when incorporated correctly.
The best part is that with this style of white wedding invitation you can still add small touches of color wherever you like. Colored ribbons, for example, can really accentuate the whiteness of the cards while also tying in your wedding colors.
Connecting to Your Wedding Themes
One reason some brides shy away from white wedding invitations is that they believe it’s difficult to work in the wedding theme. After all, a white card may not say much about what you have planned for your special event. However, that doesn’t have to be the case.
For example, if your wedding flower is the white calla lily, then you could send out White Cala Lillies Flat Cards as your invitations. The card is still mostly white, but it adds in one of the important elements from your wedding. You can also choose wedding invitations that accentuate your wedding dress such as Bridal Dress Invitations and Bridal Skirt Invitations.
The bottom line is that white wedding invitations can be an excellent choice regardless of whether you are throwing an elegant or a casual wedding. With a little creativity, you can find small ways to enhance the invitations and to pull parts of your wedding theme into them.
